I suppose that I would start the blog with Paul Harvey in mind. “The rest of the story”. The funny pics that do not get posted and the silly stories that don’t make the blog but then I would be banished from the group. Maybe Jonathan double fisting, maybe Bronte and Payton vs Soccer Team? Maybe a bit of bitching that we never want to re-live and a lot of sarcasm involved! So glad they are still all smiles and loving life!
Today was a light-rail kind of day. It was an early morning wake-up call with Gram whipping up eggs (mostly for Tanner) and then all of us off to the light-rail station which of course took 6 of the 8 to figure out that it was merely across from our HQ. Bronte rocked Joe out of bed to take care of getting us to Guinness. A task he was completely up to and with his success we managed to spend over 3 hours at the Guinness Brewery. Tour, taste, taste, tour, taste, and SHOP! Lots of well overpriced items managed to tag along on our way out the door.
The Brewery is 250 years old and has the original Lease the Arthur Guinness signed when be began the brewery – 9,000 year lease. Yes I realize Deidra and Kristy this is how long it feels as though you have been married to your spouses – can you say commitment.
Just checking? How many peeps checked the bottom of the blog to see who was writing?
This is an educational trip after all so we hit the Guinness Academy to learn how to officially POUR a pint, certificates to prove our success included! After we downed our “FREE” Guinness Pint we decided to carry on with the cerebral theme and visit the Trinity College Campus. Such a beautiful campus in the middle of Dublin with of course more shopping involved down one of the main streets! We took a peek inside St. Stephen's Green and walked down a Christmas Market with weenies, Nutella crepes, and gifts for sale. Box checked!
Side note for Tanner – Two McDonalds in one block near Trinity – Win for Tanner!
We finally managed to drag Joe to the European lifestyle and we bought a proper cap and got rid of the baseball cap…..this is for your benefit Codi!
We managed to get ourselves a bit away from the light-rail so half of us popped into a cab and half of us braved the walk back to the light-rail. Can you guess who took which transportation method?
Back at the HQ food, naps and food and naps…..Grams statement for the day – “I can not eat as often as all of you!”
The boys hit the bar (one last time as it is directly downstairs from HQ). We leave in the morning for Schull. We say good-bye to the wonderful pubic transportation and try our hand at driving! Yikes.
