We got woken up by the custodian.. we were guilty of taking up al are amount of booth space at 5 am as it was getting more busy for the early flights. I a not sure what is worse.. a flight that early or sleeping in the airport!
Tanner stayed laying down since he was only about 1 and a half hours in to sleeping, and the rest of us sat up.. and fell back asleep sitting up. We had 4 hours left! The time went by, I had my granola bar that I got at the gas station near the McDonald's.
Eventually, 9:00 am rolled around and we decided to pack up again and find the arrivals floor for terminal 2 and then find the area they would be coming out of. LOL we were ON the arrivals floor and only had to walk around the corner! Gamers.
We watched the cutest little baby hanging on the railing in the waiting area.. he almost toppled so many times! Pretty soon Mom, Dad, and Grandma Leah came through the doors! finally!!!! We all gave hugs and could hardly get a word in, we missed each other!
We immediately got a taxi (of which the accent was so thick we could hardly understand the guy) and made it to Smithfield Square where the Old Jameson Distillery is. Our apartment is a cute three bedroom place across from the distillery and next to a small food market. Beer, food, and beds. So much yes.
We all got settled and Dad and I went to the grocery store for waters and a few things to hold us over before dinner! When we got back, everyone was napping, so we joined the nap party and pulled the couch bed out and passed out for a while! Bronte, Dad, and I were the first up and made the usual pesto, melty cheese sammies!
The rest of the crew eventually surfaced and we groggily hung out for a while. Sitting on a plane and sleeping in the airport apparently takes it out of you! Once we regained some energy, we made the walk to the oldest Dublin pub still standing, The Brazen Head. It is not a full restaurant, hotel, and bar. It was just across the river from where we are staying.
The Guinness, food, and atmosphere was absolutely perfect! It was sort of a ash of afterthought rooms turned into a restaurant. GREAT food though! Gram and I shared a fried brie appetizer and a cream sauce, smoked salmon pasta.
We took Leah and mom back to the apartment for bed, and then headed down to the new place we claimed as headquarters for the Dublin stay! (Don't worry, we still love you Lion's Fountain!)
At Oscar's, the place that we live above, we all got the drink special, Jameson and Ginger ale. Something so simple is so good! We saw a huge bowl of wings and just had to order our own to share! They definitely rival the Red Garter wings!!!
The drinks and food, again, were amazing! Dad and I took the stairs up to the fifth floor, and the rest took the elevator!
